katharineelizabeth: …and that gas ovens can solve your problems? yeah, i didn’t want to say anything earlier… but slyvia plath’s legacy was the emotional insight to a woman of that day and age. brilliant writing from a type of person often not recognized. what shone through most in her works, especially her poetry, was the tragedy of her life and how she felt trapped in it, eventually SUCCESSFULLY taking her own life after multiple attempts. these things seem odd take home messages from someone suffering from severe depression.
